Die Geschichte basiert auf dem Leben von Hilde und Hans Coppi, die im Widerstand gegen den Nationalsozialismus aktiv waren.

SRF Kultur schreibt zum Film, der an der Berlinale 2024 Weltpremiere hatte: «Andreas Dresens grosse Stärke sind alltägliche Szenen mit Menschen, die sich unspektakulär echt anfühlen.»
